Friends of Mount Airey

Who are the ‘Friends’ of Mount Airey?

We are a group of parents/carers who meet regularly to arrange events and activities for the children and raise funds for the school. All are welcome and we’d love you to come along and get involved.

We are closely supported by the school and are joined out our meetings by either Mrs O’Brien or Mrs Jones.

When do we meet?

We usually meet once every month at the school to share our ideas over a cup of tea and a biscuit. Children and their siblings are most welcome. Look out for posters on the playground for the date of our next meeting.

What does the money raised for the school get spent on?

In the past, the Friends have raised money for computers, whiteboards, wet weather gear and external storage. Most recently, £1000 was given to support the ongoing ‘Tell-a-Tale’ reading programme and we are currently helping with the ‘Green Fingers Award’ which encourages the children to get out into the school’s gardens to plant flowers and vegetables.

What type of events do we organise?

Annually, the Friends organise the Summer Fete, the Bingo night, a children’s Easter Egg Hunt and have raffles and cake stalls at the many special concerts the children put on.
